Things to Do in the North Seven/Norwalk Neighborhood
Summer’s on the way and life’s always better with a little something to look forward to. If you’re thinking about moving to The Curb Apartments, or if you’re already here, we’ve put together a short list of hotspots to get your season started on the right foot. Let’s get saucy.
1.) Junction at North Seven
Formerly a warehouse, 87 Glover Ave, has been rebirthed as Norwalk’s premier ‘pop-up,’ beer garden. Boasting vintage artwork, a friendly atmosphere, and a 1920’s era Tap Truck–that serves cold craft beer and rotating cocktails, Junction at North Seven is a MUST-DO for your summertime schedule. Open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights from 5PM- 11PM. This is an easy walk from The CURB Apartments.
2.) BJ Ryan’s Bar and Restaurant
If you’re into stellar service, perfect atmosphere, and a community favorite then BJ Ryan’s is the place for you. With a booming clientele, BJ Ryan’s has two locations. For fun eclectic favorites, along with “The Best Pub Burger in Town,” you can visit BJ Ryan’s & The Magnolia Room. For amazing BBQ and delicious seafood delicacies, visit BJ Ryan’s B・AN・C House. You’ll be glad you went.
3.) The Spread
Located at 70 N Main St, The Spread is the result of a lifelong dream among four lifetime friends. Celebrated for their inventive dishes and locally sourced ingredients, it’s become a staple of your new community and an award-winning destination not too far from home.
4.) SOHO bar
Located on 97 Washington Street, SOHObar is in the heart of the historic South Norwalk district. Featuring an awesome staff and an unbeatable atmosphere, SOHObar is famous for its variety of fines wines, craft beers, perfect cocktails, and stellar food.
5.) SoNo 1420
If you’re into artisan craftsmanship (and drinks) look no further than SoNo 1420 American Craft Distillers. As a destination craft distillery, they produce ultra-premium, alternative grain, distilled spirits. It’s even close to a number of fantastic bars and restaurants (so you won’t have to drive right away).
6.) Tavern on 7
If you’re looking for something a little closer to home, then Tavern on 7 Bar & Grill may be right up your alley. A family-friendly restaurant, Tavern on 7 serves a menu of lunch and dinner staples that include burgers, buffalo wings, salads, sandwiches, and house specialties like veal shank, braised short ribs, and T-bone steak. It’s a short walk for a great meal.
Want something a little more exotic? Then you’ve got to try this! Featuring an acclaimed selection of Latin fusion cuisine, Brasitas is beloved for its delicious dishes, authentic atmosphere, and refreshingly friendly staff. Located at 430 Main Ave, you might just be able to see it from your window.
8.) Oak and Almond
Featuring some of the most amazing food you’ll enjoy this summer, Oak and Almond is renowned for their particularly unique process, using oak and almond wood to fuel their legendary stove. With specialties “inspired by the traditions and techniques of yesteryear,” their philosophy is to “Provide delicious handcrafted food, created with well-sourced seasonal ingredients with a focus on hearth and flame.”
It’s more than a meal. It’s an experience.
